Getting to Batu Caves (Kuala Lumpur)

Hi diary. Recently I just went to Kuala Lumpur with my friend, & we visited the ‘Batu Caves’ (1 of  tourist attractions in the northern territories of KL). Here’s how to get there, for people who are interested to make their way there on their own:- Take the KTM Komuter (1 of the railway networks) heading towards Sentul direction; There are 4 additional stations after Sentul station; Remain in the train all the way to the last station (which is Batu Caves). Upon arrival at Batu Caves station, you can see a very big limestone cave, a green and a gold (god) statue. There are 272 number of stairs before you reach the caves. Please refrain/be very careful when bringing  food/fruits up the flight of stairs, as there are quite a no of monkeys by the side. I had personally witness a monkey snatching a bag of bananas from an indian tourist, while on my way to the cave. Other than this, enjoy the scenery and breathtaking photo taking session~

General Election 2011 – MP GRC

Recently, Singapore had it’s General Election (for election of  Ministers every 5 years). My residential area is under the Marine Parade GRC (Group Representative Constituency), and contesting the MP GRC were PAP (People Action Party) and NSP (National Soliditary Party). There are 2 new candidates in PAP (MP GRC), one of them is Ms Tin Pei Ling.

Over the past 2 weeks before the polling day, there were a lot of hurls and -ve comments on Ms Tin Pei Ling, making fun of her, etc. But hey, let’s us look at her from a different prospective. Maybe she can really perform after all (under proper guidance). She may have say some wrong things or acted immaturely before the GE. After all, she’s a new candidate and she doesn’t have experience in politics before. By making fun of her, and discriminating her, one has already condemned her (‘wu yao ke jiu’). Shouldn’t she be given a 2nd chance to prove herself? Come to think of this, didn’t your teacher, family, spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, employer, driving instructor, etc give u a 2nd chance when u did something wrong / did not perform well? We all should be given a 2nd chance to prove ourselves. By condemning a person @ his/her 1st mistake, it’s like sentencing a person to prison straightaway w/o reasoning, & you are no better than him/her. I think this is what our Senior Minister (Goh Chok Tong) is willing to give: give a person another chance. So ppl, let’s not further discriminating Ms Tin anymore, & live on with life.
